Fighting the flab - a question of cooperation

    Caroline Jevring qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1983. She spent five years working in research and companion animal practice in Kenya. After a further two years in companion animal practice in Essex, she entered industry. In 1992, she moved to Sweden with her husband, and set up a veterinary practice management company in Stockholm.

Abstract

OBESITY is one of the most challenging conditions for veterinary surgeons to manage effectively. The success of a treatment programme depends completely on gaining the cooperation of the owner who is often fundamental to both cause and treatment of the condition. This article explains how to set up an effective weight management programme in practice.
