INVESTORS in People is a national standard which is both an award and a philosophy indicating that a business acknowledges its staff as its most valuable asset, and is committed to developing them in line with clearly set out business objectives. There must be adequate systems in place for training and evaluation and a commitment to continual improvement. Whether or not a practice intends to undergo the formal process of assessment, the standard is a valuable one to aim for as it offers a useful framework for practice development and improvement.
