Partners' cars - profile versus practicality

  1. Dixon Gunn

Dixon Gunn retired from mixed practice in 1990. He is a director of Anval Ltd and is chairman of Centaur Services. He is involved as a consultant in the BVA/SPVS Practice Survey.

Abstract

THE value of the cars owned by a practice normally forms only a small part of the total value of the assets of the whole practice. However, the problems caused by cars are often out of all proportion to their value. Rationality is never used in a debate on an emotive subject, and partners' cars are, most certainly, an emotive issue.
