THE death of any team member can have a dramatic and lasting impact, especially if it is sudden or unexpected. Any death is disruptive and can cause confusion and, just as every family should anticipate and put in place plans to mitigate the inevitable consequences of the death of a breadwinner, so should a veterinary practice. This article will look at some of the issues which a practice and partnership will have to address in the event of the death of a partner and how some of the difficulties may be avoided by forward planning.
