THE BVA-SPVS Practice Survey has been carried out annually since 1985. In a follow-up to an article published last year (In Practice, September 1997, p 445), Dixon Gunn analyses some of the results recorded during 1997 and early 1998 and compares them with results obtained in previous years of the survey. Turnover per veterinary surgeon has increased over the past year, as has the value of drug sales in both large and small animal practice. There appears to have been real growth in both equine and small animal practice since the survey began in 1985.
