Abstract

TRAPPED in practice? Daily grind getting you down? Indispensable within the workplace? Not so in John Head's practice. Since 1976, partners and assistants in his nine-person practice in Cornwall have been able to take a sabbatical, whether to return to university, or to work for a period of time in a different country. In this article, he reflects on a sabbatical he took in South Africa and explores some of the practicalities of setting up such a trip.
