A practitioner in residence
  1. Boyd Jones

    Boyd Jones is Professor of Small Animal Clinical Studies at University College Dublin. He was formerly Head of Small Animal Clinics at Massey University, New Zealand.

  2. Aidan Miller

    Aidan Miller qualified from Dublin in 1992. He currently works in Galway, Ireland, in a mixed but mainly small animal practice.

  3. Rory Bell

    Rory Bell qualified from Dublin in 1999. He is currently completing an internship in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Studies at Dublin.

  4. Alison Jones

    Alison Jones is Veterinary Affairs Manager for Hill's Pet Nutrition.


IN 1999, a Practitioner in Residence programme was set up at University College Dublin, with the support of Hill's Pet Nutrition, to bring the reality of veterinary practice to students during their clinical rotation. In this article, the views of the participating department, the practitioner, a student and the programme's sponsor are discussed a year down the line.
