  1. Dixon Gunn

Dixon Gunn is a director of Anval. He is involved as a consultant in the BVA/SPVS Practice Survey.

STANDARD operating procedures (SOPs) bring a variety of benefits to the veterinary practices that use them. A properly constructed SOP can improve practice efficiency, possibly save money, act as a training manual for staff and, as a last resort, be used by the practice to defend itself should any charges of wrongdoing be levied. In this article, Dixon Gunn gives details of how to go about introducing SOPs, emphasising that clarity and continual reassessment are essential to ensure that they remain effective in the workplace.
