    Danielle Greenberg qualified from Liverpool in 1998, having already completed a modern history degree at Oxford. Until February 2000, she worked in a mixed, mainly small animal, practice in York, before joining the RSPCA's Greater Manchester Animal Hospital. She is an officer of the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons, and is editor of the SPVS bulletin.

Abstract

FOR recent graduates, working for one of the UK's animal charities offers an opportunity to gain experience, develop and improve knowledge and skills, and to be part of a large team, albeit policies and practices vary between charities. In this article, Danielle Greenberg describes some of the challenges an rewards of her job with one of the major charities, discussing her work as a vet at the RSPCA's Greater Manchester Animal Hospital.
