IN the last issue, Maggie Shilcock outlirned the many areas encompassed by the role of veterinary practice manager, and emphasised the need for the manager to delegate appropriate tasks to other members of staff and to liaise with the practice owners. Here, she looks more specifically at how the right practice manager can improve the skills and motivation of practice staff and, by doing so, make a real difference to the running - and profitability - of the practice.
