    Gareth ‘Moz’ Jones graduated from Liverpool in 1986. He completed a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the Royal Veterinary College in 1995, and then returned to his roots in mixed general practice in Leicester. He is now a partner at the Park Veterinary Group where, among other things, he takes referrals in ophthalmology. He holds the RCVS certificate in veterinary ophthalmology.

BITTEN by the ophthalmic bug but with nothing more than a direct ophthalmoscope at your disposal? In this article, Gareth Jones explains how the budding ophthalmologist can make the case for practice investment in more sophisticated tools for eye examination. He also describes how, given the constraints of the practice budget, the kit can be built up in a staged manner.
