Michelle Cook graduated with a degree in Animal Sciences from London University's Imperial College at Wye in 1994 and gained experience in media aspects of veterinary medicine through her work in the British Veterinary Association press office. She graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St George&s University in January 2005 and in July became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons by examination.
Abstract
IN 2001, after spending six years as a press officer for the BVA, Michelle Cook won a scholarship to study veterinary medicine at St George&s University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Caribbean island of Grenada. Now back in the UK, and having recently passed the RCVS Membership examination, she describes her experiences of living and studying over 4000 miles from home
