Keeping it clean: further lessons for infection control

Clive Elwood is head of medicine at Davies Veterinary Specialists, and is a diplomate of the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is the principal representative of the practice's directors on the infection control group.
Abstract
IN 2006, Gerry Polton and Clive Elwood described how an infection control group was set up in their practice to investigate infection risks and improve hygiene practices (In Practice, October 2006, volume 28, pp 548-550). The practice duly saw improvements in the incidence of hospital-acquired infections. However, infection control is an ongoing process and here they report further on what has been learned from their experiences.
