A Fellowship thesis from practice: is it for you?

Frances Harcourt-Brown qualified from Liverpool in 1973 and is in general practice in Harrogate, where rabbits form 80 per cent of her present workload. She is a past recipient of the BVA's William Hunting Award and the BSAVA's Melton and Dunkin Awards, and is the author of the Textbook of Rabbit Medicine. She received her FRCVS in 2006 and is now an RCVS registered specialist in rabbit medicine and surgery.
Abstract
BECOMING a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons while in practice requires a large amount of hard work and commitment, but can be extremely rewarding. Here, Frances Harcourt-Brown describes the process that she went through when researching and writing her thesis, highlighting factors that would-be Fellows should consider.
