    Gillian Page qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1988. A head nurse position in Pinner was followed by a degree at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. In 2000, she joined the College of Animal Welfare and was involved in setting up Scotland's first degree programme in veterinary nursing. She and her husband Tony are partners in Ayrton Veterinary Centre, Whitburn. The new purposebuilt facility was designed and part project managed by Tony and Gillian.

Abstract

ADVERTISING your practice is essential in an increasingly competitive environment, but there are a number of factors that must be considered first to ensure that it is money well spent. Here, Gillian Page suggests how to create effective advertising to raise the profile of your practice and bring in new clients. In a box on page 34, Tim Harrison describes the positive impact that sports sponsorship has had for his practice.
