Practice-based clinical research: an introduction

    Mark Holmes graduated from Cambridge in 1985. He is a senior lecturer in preventive veterinary medicine at Cambridge and is a co-author, with Peter Cockcroft, of the Handbook of Veterinary Clinical Research and the Handbook of Evidence-Based Veterinary Medicine.


Carrying out practice-based clinical research can make a valuable contribution to veterinary medicine, and can often lead to improved patient care. Mark Holmes outlines factors that need to be taken into account when planning the various phases of a clinical research project in practice.
