Veterinary Nurses
Veterinary nurses and continuing professional development
  1. Claire Fraser

Claire Fraser is a registered veterinary nurse and qualified in 1990. She worked in small animal and mixed practices until 1996, when she became a lecturer at the Berkshire College of Agriculture. She subsequently worked as an assessor while continuing to work in practice, and became an internal verifier and lecturer at Warwickshire College and then a full-time internal verifier at MYF Training, although she still works a few days a year in practice. She is currently senior vice-president of the British Veterinary Nursing Association.

IN light of the non-statutory register, currently in place for all qualified small animal and equine veterinary nurses in the UK, the availability of good-quality and affordable CPD is now even more important than ever. Claire Fraser suggests various ways in which veterinary nurses can keep their CPD up to date.
