Preparing for the Practice Standards Scheme medicines assessment: part 1

If you have a Practice Standards Scheme assessment approaching and are responsible for meeting the standards for one of the largest modules – medicines – then this article will be helpful in ensuring that your practice is prepared and meeting the standards. The article is in two parts: this first part deals with changes to the scheme, medicines records, storage of medicines and prescribing, dispensing and supplying procedures.

The second part, which will be published in the July/August issue of In Practice, will cover controlled drugs, unauthorised medicines use and responsible use of antimicrobials and anthelmintics.
